ZXN – Unlocked Dual Sim Mobile Phone

As popular as the Chinese cell phones were at this time last year, the troubled economy has boosted their popularity even further. An unlocked cell phone is a good financial decision, because you are not limited to one carrier, and can shop around for the best price.

But the biggest issue regarding the clones was that the majority of the most popular models had flat screens, providing a different feel when texting, emailing and sending messages. For some this is not an issue, but many texters prefer using real, raised keys when they text.

The manufacturers have responded by developing models with upgraded cameras and messaging capabilities. One of the newer models in this category is the ZXN. Sometimes this phone is referred to as ZXN95 and the silver model is referred to as ZXN(S).

The appeal of this phone lies in its full keyboard/scroll bar, 3.0 mega pixel digital camera and its low price. It can be found for as little as $50, making it one of the least expensive clones available.

Don’t be misled by the low price, though. The Z model is loaded with features, including: a 2.6 inch touch screen; a built in 3.0 mega pixel digital camera that can also be used as a high quality web cam; full MP3 / MP4 capabilities; Bluetooth 2.0; 4 very sharp vibrating speakers; expandable 2GB of memory; and web browsing, emailing and messaging with WAP, GPRS, SMS, MMS, including voice mail.

Due to the advanced editing features, the high resolution digital camera and the messaging features, some people believe that this phone is a copy of the Sony Ericsson c702a.

The original version is black, but it also comes in silver,  referred to as the S version. The silver version appears to be more popular. This model is tri-band, supporting GSM 900/1800/1900 MHZ bands — this means it works with most carriers, among them Fido, SunCom, and T-Mobile. Your service provider will be able to tell you what band you use currently. Software is not necessary for this phone and it will read your SIM card.

This compares well with the Nokia N99i clone: both are text messaging phones with 3.0 MP cameras; the N99i is more expensive because it includes analog television.

When you talk to a Verizon agent they tell you that there is no way it can happen. Is this true.

Verizon is a CDMA network

They would never work together under their current configurations.

This is my situation. I have a current Verizon phone. I now want a new Motorola phone that normally doesn’t provide service to Verizon. It’s an unlocked phone though, so all I have to do is switch the SIM card from my Verizon phone to my new Motorola phone? Is that all it takes?

Answer: Verizon doesn’t use SIM cards. Verizon is on the CDMA (Closed Division Multiple Access). Sprint is also CDMA.

Cingular and T-Mobile use SIM cards because they are on the GSM network.

Try taking your phone to T-Mobile or Cingular, it won’t work with Verizon or T-Mobile.

I have already have a wireless plan with cingular. I want to get a new phone, but don’t want to pay the exorborant fees that they charge for them. I’ve found that I can get unlocked phones for much better prices online, but I’m not sure how to get the new phone set up. To activate an unlocked mobile phone, do I just put my SIM card into the new phone? Or is there something else that I have to do?

I have verizon and I need a new phone. I really want to get an unlocked palm treo. How exactly does an unlocked phone work and how do I add it to my existing service?

Answer: Unlocked phones don’t work with Verizon’s service.

Unlocked phones basically means that the phone can be used with any carrier which uses SIM cards and GSM frequencies. Which Verizon doesn’t use.

They say you can use an unlocked phone, but the way they say it is in a whole different category than your usual unlocked phone.

Question: How do I use my unlocked phone with my current carrier?
This is a gift. My mother has a plan with Verizon. I don’t want to extend that plan but give her this unlocked phone and make sure she can use this phone with her current plan.

Answer: If you have an unlocked phone, that phone would be a GSM phone. That phone is not compatible with Verizon service. Verizon works on CDMA technology, GSM works with a sim card, a CDMA phone does not. On a
side note, the only phones your mom can use with Verizon is a Verizon Branded phone. They will not activate any other CDMA phone

Question: What happens when a contract on an unlocked phone expires?
Are you free to maintain service with your current carrier or can you switch to a different carrier? Will there be an issue unlocking the phone again?

I want to purchase an unlocked phone and be able to use it for more than two years with no hassles.

Answer: Well, you may choose to legally or illegally unlock it. Either way, there is a small charge, it might be difficult to have it unlocked legally, and the charge might be bigger. Otherwise if unlocked illegally you can still use it wherever whenever.
