You can put your sim card into any phone you want.
Somebody else cant put a sim into your phone unless the sim is with the 3 network.

Answer: Chocolate works on CDMA network. That is a Verizon phone. So does Cincinntai run on CDMA network?

Question: How do I get an unlocked LG enV phone onto the Sprint Network?
I’m interested in the new LG enV phone and I noticed a post that inquired about putting it on the AT&T/Cingular network. In one of the answers someone stated that it was possible to put it on the Sprint network which is what I’m on so I was wondering how to do that, if it truly is possible.
Answer: Well there are a couple factors that come into play here. Like you said the phone will need to be unlocked. Also, you need to see if Sprint is capable or willing to load their programming onto the phone so that it will work on their network. In my experience they are unable to do so. It is easier with phones from AT&T and T-mobile because they have sim cards that already have the programming loaded into them. Thus if the phone is unlocked you only have to add your sim card and it will work. Not true for the other carriers though.

Answer: The LG chocolate is a CDMA phone (doesnot use simcards) where as T-Mobile is a GSM carrier (uses simcards) they use different cell technology and are NOT compatible with each other.
You can only make a unlocked GSM phone work with T-Mobile such as those from At&t.

Answer: You will have no problem if that LG Shine phone is an unlocked GSM phone.

i just bought an unlocked lg chocolate from a company and i have cingular. the texting and calling and stuff works fine..but i know you have to do some stuff in order to get your internet and to put songs on the phone..i have the multi media package so yeah. help please
Answer: generally the unlock button is a combination of the following keys: menu and star. however for the set up you should be able to go to menu-settings-phone setup. i hope i could be helpful!
Question: Can I buy an unlocked LG enV phone and use it with my Cingular/AT&T service?
I have heard from some people that it would work, and others say the enV is strictly a Verizon phone. If anybody has any insight, please share!
Answer: AT&T phones use a type of cell technology called GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) while Verizon uses a different one called CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access). These two types of networks are not compatible with each other, and phones that run on one cannot work on the other, with the exception of the new Blackberry 8830 World Edition from Verizon and Sprint.
GSM phones require SIM cards to function while Verizon phones do not. Since the enV is offered by Verizon it does not need a SIM. If you tried to get AT&T to put it on their network, it would need to have a SIM in it to be able to work on the network, but since it’s a Verizon phone and doesn’t need one, there’s no slot for one. That basically the problem that arises. That phone simply will not work for AT&T. You could put it on Sprint, but not on AT&T.
